I grabbed the Safe Sport Gear HouseHoops Basketball so my niece and nephew could practice dribbling without making a bunch of noise. The ball ships low on air but inflates with any standard needle pump… two quick bursts and it rounds out instantly. That alone beat the foam indoor balls we tried last year… those sponge cubes stayed dented for hours after a hard pass and felt like lobbing a loaf of bread. This HouseHoops sphere pops right back to perfect, so we can launch a game the moment the valve cap clicks.Weight runs lighter than a regulation outdoor ball, which keeps lamps safe and small arms happy. Still, the pebble texture gives real grip, and the bounce has just enough pop to mimic the driveway feel without the thud that rattles picture frames. My niece pointed out she can finally practice proper dribbles instead of chasing foam blobs that skid off at random angles.Surface safety is the clincher. We have tested on hardwood, tile, and painted drywall… not a single scuff or streak. The softer shell absorbs impact so rebounds stay gentle, yet the ball keeps its shape round after round. Even during an accidental face block—thanks, nephew—it felt more like a firm pillow tap than a rubber smack.Minor note: because it is lighter, full-force outdoor shooters need to ease up indoors or the ball sails. The kids adjusted after a few shots… softer flicks now drop clean from ten feet. For indoor practice that trade-off is worth it.Overall, HouseHoops nails the sweet spot between safety and authentic feel. No spongey collapse, no shape memory delay, and zero wall damage. Five stars… my living room MVP.──────── RATING LEGEND────────⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 Stars = Nailed it… exactly as advertised or even better⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4 Stars = Solid… but something’s off, mis-represented, or overpriced⭐⭐⭐ 3 Stars = Meh… not terrible, but not worth the money or time⭐⭐ 2 Stars = Yikes… functional but major issues, buyer beware⭐ 1 Star = Absolute trash… should not exist
Great ball to play around with in the house. Don't get me wrong, it will knock things over if you toss it around and miss, but not as hard as a regular basketball. It does bounce well in the house and my kids like playing with it. Not as large as a regular basketball either, but large enough to have fun with it. The texture is pretty good as well. Nice that it doesn't smell out of the package. A little more than it should be, but not super high. Nice product.
As described, good quality, and fun way to bring basketball inside the house.
Good quality inflatable ball. Keeps it shape. Definitely makes noise on hard surface flooring.
This ball looks like a quality Basketball with the stitching of the logo on it. It doesn’t have any sort of smell to it. It has a lot softer feel. It is like a cushion net is over top of a ball that’s in the inside of this cushion. This is what keeps it from making as much of a sound when compared to the normal rubber basketball. So it is a lot quieter than that of the regular rubber basketball that you hear pounding when dribbling indoors. It is a little bit harder to dribble than a normal basketball because it can be a little bit more slippery as it is lighter. My son also says it is more bouncy. However, I do not know if that is him because the ball is lighter or if it is more bouncy. That being said if this one does go out of control in the house, it’s not going to cause a lot of damage to things. So this ball will be good to not have so much noise and helpful at times when it’s raining outside or it’s too hot to play in the driveway.
